Objective

Redesign Starbucks' employee public service platform to make it easier for employees to find and create public service events. In addition, make it possible for users to turn the event into a story that can live on the site and beyond.

Research

The research phase on this project was brief, because the client had already identified the main problems with the current platform. However, through surveys and workshops, we had the shared vision to solve the following issues:

  • Users were not logging their hours because the interface made it too difficult.

  • The user dashboard was dated and didn't encourage users to engage.

  • The site didn't adequately represent the broader company goal of logging a million public service hours annually.

These are a few screenshots from the prototype we created. This was taken to the Starbucks headquarters in Seattle to be tested on  partners that worked both the stores and corporate offices.
