Create an educational platform to help educators facilitate a model National Security Council for their students.
The onboarding process of a new application can be a daunting process. We were tasked with showing teachers how to use the application, teaching them about the National Security Council and helping them to select the case study for their class. This document helped our clients and team keep all of the nuances in order.
This product had a number of critical email notifications, that helped teachers and students communicate with each other. In addition, some email communications were automated by certain actions. Capturing all of these rules required various matrices as well as a few visual flows like this one.
Sometimes, the less sexy a template is, the more annotations it requires. To make it easy for teachers to add students to a class and assign roles, there were a number or rules to capture and many edge cases to avoid. We added helpful features like an overlay guide that explained what each role entailed as well as a feature that let teachers save that class for future cases.
To teach students about foreign affairs on the web, we had to ensure that the content was long enough to be substantial, but optimized to be read on the web. Therefore, we kept the copy in smaller paragraphs and sprinkled a wide variation of content types.
